On the fourth Wednesday of each month, The Somerville Homeless Coalition and The Somerville Food Security Coalition host a free meal in East Somerville for folks in the broader Somerville community called “Come To The Table”. This is a great opportunity for the church to tangibly serve our community, demonstrate the love of Christ, and partner alongside a non-profit that is doing work that we want to affirm.

If you are interested in volunteering, please email Rev. Josh Henderson at joshhenderson@ctksomerville.org and the volunteer coordinator, Erica Silva at ericaalvims@gmail.com with the times you (and anyone else that you might be able to bring!) are able to serve.

Schedule:

3:00-5:00 pm: Help set up, prepare food, and help the chefs as needed.

5:00-7:00 pm: Help serve, greet guests, host the pop-up food pantry, help host an activity for children.

6:00-8:00 pm: Help serve as needed, clean up.

Additional details:

Plan on showing up right at the time your volunteer shift begins. Find Josh or Erica, or ask for any of the meal coordinators. Let them know that you are there to volunteer, and they will let you know what is needed of you!
